The Administrator/CEO of Bay Bluffs, Lisa Ashley, has over 18 years of healthcare leadership experience, two of which have been while working at the facility. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work. As the Administrator, Lisa takes pride in seeing her staff team grow and thrive in the work environment. It is an even greater privilege for her to see the residents’ daily lives and to be able to learn from them. Lisa lives in Petoskey with husband, Mark, and their 3 children. When she’s not working, Lisa is at one of the kids’ many sporting events, catching up on Downton Abbey episodes, or enjoying our Northern Michigan nature.
With a BBA and CPA in Accounting, Mike Greer has been the Chief Financial Officer at Bay Bluffs for the last 16 years. He enjoys working along with the entire staff team as well as mingling with the residents. Mike and wife, Jenny, live in Petoskey with the youngest of his 4 children plus their dog, Guinness. He is a fan of Will Ferrell, Farmers’ Breakfast and Justin Cronin books. You can find Mike playing a round of golf, traveling, or spending time with the grand-kids when he is not at work.
Sonja Bosley has over 20 years working in healthcare with her last 2 years at Bay Bluffs. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Recreational Therapy and Associates of Nursing. Sonja has worked as a floor nurse, Interim Administrator and is now the facility’s Director of Nursing. What she loves about working at Bay Bluffs is being a part of the residents’ lives and sharing in their day-to-day! Sonja also enjoys camping, fishing and snowshoeing; she is an avid outdoor adventurer. Living in Harbor Springs, Sonja enjoys family time with her husband, Scott, and their 2 children.
Karen Gauden has been Bay Bluffs’ Assistant Director of Nursing since October 2014 and the facility’s Quality and Compliance Officer since January 2016, but she has 39 years of experience under her belt as a RN. Her favorite part about working at Bay Bluffs is being able to make a special difference in the day/life of a resident or co-worker. In her free time, Karen likes to visit her 3 children and 3 grand-children as well as traveling, shopping and reading. She enjoys anything with caramel in it, but will not brave heights.
Kelly Raredon has been a State of Michigan Licensed Social Worker for 19 years, 14 of them working at Bay Bluffs. She has obtained both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work as well as becoming a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Her favorite part about working at the facility is being with a group of people who work to provide exceptional care for the residents and their families. Kelly lives in Harbor Springs with her husband and 2 children. Family, friends and Grey’s Anatomy are on Kelly’s fun list when she’s not working.
My name is Jennifer Johnston and I am one of two social workers here at Bay Bluffs-ECMCF. My family and I have lived in Northern Michigan our entire lives.
I started working at Bay Bluffs in 2004 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. While working, I continued to go to college and graduated from Spring Arbor University with a Bachelors degree in Social Work. I have been working as a Social Worker since January of 2013.
Jennifer Buchanan graduated from NCMC School of Nursing in 2001 and began working for Bay Bluffs in September of 2011. She has worked as a Unit Care Coordinator for approximately 2 ½ years; prior to, she was a Restorative and Floor Nurse. Jennifer also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary education from Eastern Michigan University. Her favorite part about working at Bay Bluffs is helping residents make their stay as enjoyable as possible. Jennifer spends her free time attending her children’s sporting events and taking trips to Kilwins for a cup of cappuccino chocolate chip ice cream, her favorite! She lives in Petoskey with her husband, their 4 children and the family cat.
Barbara Fate has been Bay Bluffs’ Infection Preventionist for 3 years, but has 38 years of nursing experience. Her favorite part about working at Bay Bluffs is working alongside the rest of the Bay Bluffs’ team in order to provide the best care possible for our amazing residents. If she is not at work, you can find Barbara working on the family cottage, bird-watching or wine tasting. To go along with her wine, Barbara would like a Mounds Almond Joy. She lives in Petoskey with her husband Bob, where they can spend time with their 6 children, 5 grand-kids, and 3 grand-dogs.
Kathe Shaw, Bay Bluffs’ MDS Coordinator, has 7 years of RN experience and is a Certified Resident Assessment Coordinator. She lives in Petoskey with husband, Bryan, and their 4 children. Kathe can usually be found at a PHS sporting or band event when not at work. She also enjoys reading and her beach time.
Marie Spiewak joined the Bay Bluffs team in October 2016 as a Unit Care Coordinator.
As the facility’s Registered Dietician, Ellen Moster has worked at Bay Bluffs since 2000. She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree and became a Registered Dietician in 1993. Ellen’s favorite part about working at Bay Bluffs is the fact the long-term setting allows her to get to know the residents and their families.
Becky Krussell has been with Bay Bluffs for 26 years; having worked as a Dietary Aide, Cook and Housekeeping/Laundry Aide. She is now the Director of Housekeeping and has been since 1999. Becky enjoys everyday with the residents and co-workers. Becky lives in Petoskey with husband, Ray, their daughter and cat, Marlee. When she’s not working, Becky likes to research genealogy, spend time with her family and catch up on antiquing.
Sheri Streeting is the Dietary Manager for Bay Bluffs and has been for 2 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree and is a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional and also a ServSafe Certified Instructor/Proctor for the ServSafe Program. Sheri has worked in long-term care for over 8 years. Sheri’s favorite part about working at Bay Bluffs is listening to the residents’ stories and getting to know their histories. She lives in Boyne Falls with her husband, twins and their 2 dogs. When she’s not working, Sheri enjoys grilling outdoors and cooling off with a bowl of coconut ice cream.
Hi, my name is Ted I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2007 with a BAA in Therapeutic Recreation and am certified by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals. I have been employed at Bay Bluffs since 2011 as Activity Director/Volunteer Coordinator.
Susan Thurston joined Bay Bluffs in 2014 as the Human Resource Manager, bringing with her 25 years of experience. She has a degree in Communications and Human Resource Management. What Susan most enjoys about her job is getting to know and helping her work “family.” She also enjoys interacting with residents. Susan lives in Petoskey with her husband, daughter and two frisky puppies. While not at work, Susan enjoys sewing dance/art costumes, spending time with her family and cooking anything Italian.
Kristen Moore has worked at Bay Bluffs as the Administrative Assistant for 2 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Grand Valley State University. Her favorite part about working at Bay Bluffs is the diverse group of people she gets to interact with, and the fact that no day is ever the same as the one before. Kristen lives in Boyne City with her husband Kyle and their puppy Stanley. Outside of work, you can find Kristen photographing weddings, reading the latest book for her book club or binge watching Grey’s Anatomy.
Beata Gioutsos is the Admissions Coordinator and has been with Bay Bluffs for 5 years. She is a RN and spent 3 years on the floor before becoming the Admissions Coordinator. Beata loves working to help make residents’ transition into the facility as smooth as possible. She lives in Petoskey with her fiancé, Shawn, 2 dogs, 25 chickens and 4 ducks! If you catch her outside of work she may be gardening, tending to her flock, or creating some wonderful exterior/interior designs.
